The Stanford Heart-Lung and Lung Transplantation Fellowship is seeking applicants for a one-year fellowship position starting July 2024. The fellowship is designed to provide subspecialty training in heart-lung and lung transplantation and prepares trainees to launch academic careers in transplantation medicine. 

Program Description

We provide comprehensive clinical training specific to the care of lung transplant candidates and recipients. Direct supervision and teaching is provided by the medical and surgical faculty of the Heart-Lung and Lung Transplantation Program. 

For candidates with specific interests in Advanced Lung Disease, a personalized training experience with opportunities to acquire skills in additional subspecialty areas such as Cystic Fibrosis Clinic and Interstitial Lung Disease Clinic can be developed. 

Over the last 40 years of the Stanford Heart-Lung and Lung Transplantation Fellowship, approximately 40 fellows have successfully completed the fellowship. Most program graduates are now accomplished faculty members including medical directors at lung transplant programs worldwide.

Qualifications

Candidates who are board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine. Individuals with equivalent experience in related areas are encouraged to contact us and will be given consideration. 

The Stanford PGY 7 stipend for the Heart-Lung and Lung Transplantation Fellowship Program is currently $103,604.80.
