2020 ATS-APCCMPD-PEPTDA Clinician Educator Forum  

The American Thoracic Society (ATS), the Association of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Program Directors (APCCMPD) and the Pediatric Pulmonary Training Directors Association (PEPTDA) are pleased to host a joint Clinician-Educators’ Forum at the ATS 2020 International Conference again this year. The session will feature discussions on best practices in teaching and strategies for improving education in a variety of settings as well as the presentation of the 2020 Innovations in Fellowship Education Award. Program Directors, key clinical faculty, clinician educators, and fellows who are interested in developing their teaching skills are welcome. The event will take place on Saturday, May 16 from 1– 4 p.m. in the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The forum will be co-chaired by Drs. May Lee and Maryl Kreider. 

Topics will include:

  • Using qualitative research techniques in education research - Ben Nelson, MD
  • Effective teaching in a clinic setting - Stacey Kassuto, MD and Janae Heath, MD MSCE
  • The Oz Principle to Achieving Results -  H. Bryant Nguyen, MD, MS
  • Reducing bias in the interview process - Meshell Johnson, MD
  • Differences between coaching and mentoring - Avrham Cooper, MD and Basak Coruh, MD
  • 2020 Innovation in Fellowship Education Award Winner
