We are pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for the Pulmonary Hypertension/Pulmonary Vascular Disease (PH/PVD) Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania for the academic year starting July 2026.
Overview
This fellowship is a 1-year non-ACGME accredited fellowship opportunity at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. Our PH/PVD Program has existed for more than forty years and is a PHA-accredited Center of Comprehensive Care under the auspices of the Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care and Cardiovascular Medicine Divisions.
Objectives
In this fellowship, trainees will gain extensive experience in the diagnosis, assessment and management of PH/PVD. Fellows will become proficient in the interpretation of diagnostic data including imaging modalities (CT, echo, VQ, SPECT CT scans, cardiac MRI), pulmonary function testing, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, and measurement and interpretation of cardiopulmonary hemodynamics. Fellows will become proficient in the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension and other forms of PVD in the acute and chronic settings, as well as participate in rotations across relevant subspecialties including rheumatology, adult congenital heart disease, advanced heart failure, advanced lung disease, and advanced liver disease, among others. Fellows will be involved in scholarly activity including case conferences and journal clubs and will have dedicated mentorship in the execution of PH/PVD-related research.
Eligibility requirements
Physicians who have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Cardiology or Pulmonary and Critical Care are eligible.
